About what you had told me about Pieter I think you have to think it twice. Vermeer is just an ilusion a platonic love and you know that he is a very serious man and a serious husband. He will never separate from his wife that's why you shoul be with Pieter. pieter will make you happy because he really love you, and he also have a good economy and you could eat meat and your family too.
You have been long time to be with Pieter and with that excuse of that you are to young to get married, but you know that is not true. You should try with Pieter because you have a good oportunity to be with him. you are just attracted with Vermeer because he have money and live in good facilities. Even though you do not admit that you are in love with Vermeer I know you feel something for him. Many people without power are good an honest, but others when they have power become completely different, change their personalities and morals. Having power can be good or bad, it depends how you use it. For instance a governor has some power, but a governor can steal from the city.
When I was living in Puerto Rico 7 years ago, I heard about a governor who stole millions and millions of dollars from the city. He was caught in his stealing. Some political people noticed that the governor was stealing because the money was disappearing.
When I heard this situation I was in my home looking at tv and all the channels were talking about the governor. Many people were angry with him. The police came to his huge and immense house and arrested him in front of all his family. Puerto Rico there are not presidents because P.R is part of the U.S. Puerto Rico has only governors and mayors. This governor was in the goverment for 7 years because he was relected two times. Many people in the beginning of his government thought that he was a good person and that he would change Puerto Rico in a good way, but in fact, he was corrupt and dishonest. The final result is that the governor is in jail paying for his bad conduct.
When we have power we should use it for a good reason and the most important lesson is to be always honest. Being a good person withgood morals and ethics will always help us for not do something incorrectly.

Sometimes in our countries we have traditions that we do not know why we celebrate. We do not know where they come from. Some people follow some traditions because everyone celebrate them, but, they do not know why it is a celebration or the reason for it. Others decide not to be part of some traditions because they think there is no reason for celebration.
I went to Mexico last year for vacation from October 29 until November 15. I went with all my family: my mom, my sister, and my brother. At that time in Mexico they celebrate Halloween on October 31st and they also celebrate the Day of the Dead on November 1st. In Mexico I have all my mom's family so I stayed in my aunt's house.
I was very excited, waiting for Halloween and the Day of the Dead. I had my costumes in my suitcase. Two days before November 1st I asked my aunt what she was going to do on November 1st. She said she will not do anything for that day. I got surprised by her answer. November 1st is a joyful celebration when mexicans remeber the dead and worship. I asked her "but why?" My aunt said that she doesn't celebrate the death's day because she is not happy with death. Moreover she asked me why I celebrate the death's day. I didn't know what to said, I just told her that everyone celebrates it because it is part of Mexicans traditions. She gave me an explanation. I was petrified by what she told me.
She lost her first baby when she was young. Her baby died when he was 10 days old. She suffered a lot for her little boy. That's why she doesn't celebrate the day of the dead because death took her son. Then she asked me"why celebrate the day of the dead if someone special to us dies and we cry? I hate the death because of it I dont have my baby." That made me think a lot. Now I think in the same way she does, because I lost my father; he died long time ago.
I think everyone has the right of choose to follow or not a tradition or custom. Everyone has the free choice to believe or not in a custom. My aunt is not doing anything wrong if she doesn't continues with the tradition she just thinks it is not correct to her to celebrate the Day of the dead.

Girl With A Pearl Earring
Summary
Griet lived with her father, sister and with her brother. She had to work as a maid because his father suffered an accident in his workplace. The Vermeer's family hired her as a maid to do the house works and to take care of Catharina's six children. Catharina was jealous of Griet because Griet was available to enter to the Vermeers painting studio and Catharina not. Griet woul come to her home on Sundays. Cornelia is sometimes nice but in other moments she is bad. Griet knew Pieter who she get her meat. Her sister was ill and Griet was very sad.
A Part I Like
The part that I liked much is when Griet came to her house. Her siter was asking her how is the Vermeer's family . After six days out of her house she was very happy to see her family again.Her parent were preocuped about she and how she felt in the Vermee's house.
Questions:
1- Why Griet is the only one who are allowed to enter to the Vermeer's studio?
2-Did she feel something for Pieter?

''One Of These Days'' by Aurelio Escovar is about a poor dentist who don't have a degree. One day he was polishing a false teeth and his eleven year old boy told him that the mayor was waiting for him to take out his tooth.The dentist dont't wasnted to help him but the mayor threatened to the dentist. So the dentist help him. Aurelio Escovar took the teeth without anesthesia because the mayor had an abscess but the reality is that the dentist wanted a revenge. He said "Now you"ll pay for our twenty dead men." When the dentist finished the mayor said to send him the bill.
Part I like
The part that I liked is where the mayor said to the dentist if he don't come to take his teeth he will shoot him. I liked this part because is the part that it takes more in suspense the story and more interesting. I felt to be inside the story and be part as a witness.

Bad Companies composition# 4
Some people do the right thing but, others may think that some waysthat we try to resolve some problems is not the correct choice. Sometimes we can't see the true value of a person but, then we see it. When we need help some people try to help us in a way that we may think is not correct.
When I was in high school I had a boyfriend; his name was Fernando. I met him in the school, he was a very good person. When I knew him, he was intelligent and he liked to study a lot. He encourage me to study and to do homework so I could pass my classes.
One day my sister made a hookie in my home. A hookie is a party in school hours. So students who go to hookies have to cut classes. That day I went to school but I felt early because I didn't feel good. I went back home and I noticed that in my home were people. When I enter I smelled the smoke of the marihuana, people were dancing and drinking; the party was in a good mood. I met new people and I made friends with them. We exchange phone numbers and they called me the next day. I hang out with them, one day they invited me to smoke marihuana and I accepted. I was curious so I did it. The next day I told my boyfriend what happened the day before and he was extrmely annoyed. He asked me if I would do that again and I said no. He also told me that If I smoke again he will call my mom and said her to what happened. However, I continued to go out with mys sister's friends smoking drugs. As a result my grades started to go out down. My boyfriend noticed about my grades and he asked me again if I was consuming drugs. In one moment I thought to lie to him but, I didn't. He was very upset with me. H etold me that he was going to call to my mom. I begged him not to call my mom but, he didn't listen to me.
After two days, my mom received a call.Iwas in suspense because I was thinking about what my boyfriend had said to me. When my mother hung up the phone she looked at me. She told me, "how is posible?" I told her,"about what?" My mom said that my boyfiend told her everything. My mom was angry with my sister because she did a hookieand permitted people to smoke in our home and she was angry with me because I was smoking. I asked my mother to forgive me and I promise to her to never do that again. My mother then said that my boyfriend was a good person and he really loved me. But no matter what my mother said, inside me I was angry with him. I didn't talk to him for two weeks.
In those two weeks I didn't talk to those friends. My friend of the school told me that he want the best for me. In that conversation I realized that my boyfriend was a good person. I realized that he was honest and that he loved me and that he just wanted the best for me.
Some people can act in some ways that for them they think is corrct but for others may be incorrect. We think that they don't care about us but it is completely opposite, they care and want the best for us.

The Lottery
The story "The Lottery" is about a ritual that takes place in a small town village. This town had like 300 people who live there. All years they have to play a ritual.This is the time of summer on June 27th. They have to slip papers with the same amount of people in a black box. Everyone have to taker one paper and even the children.The person who had the black spot is the winner. All people then have to collect stones. The person who is the winner have to die.
The part that I like is when everyone is scare and want to know who is the winner. For me that part is very suspense. It makes me feel that I m in the story too. In one moment I feel that I was inside of the story.
1. Why this tradition start?
2. Why Mrs. Hutchinson was very scold?
My interpretation of this story is that thisd story is for time of halloween or when you want to read some scare stories.Also my interpretation is that people have afraid to change cultures or traditions that are bad.
